We are grateful to all registered patients for their continued support for Sidley Medical Practice. As your new caretaker provider we have enjoyed seeing many of you at the main surgery site in Turkey Road since we began providing care to the local community on 27 August.
We know there has been some talk about the future of the Albert Road branch surgery site. Although there are no plans to close the Albert Road branch surgery permanently, we can now confirm that it does need to close temporarily so that some remedial maintenance work can be done to ensure it is safe for patients.
The Albert Road branch surgery site will be closed from Monday, 8 September and while we don’t know how long the building work will take, we will keep you updated as soon as there is further news.
Registered patients can continue to access services at the main practice site in Turkey Road. All clinics and appointments previously offered at the Albert Road site will now take place at the Turkey Road site until further notice, and all patients who have appointments booked at the Albert Road site are being contacted directly to let them know about the new arrangements.
The Turkey Road site is on a main bus route, with a bus stop very close to the practice. The journey time from Albert Road to Turkey Road by bus is approximately 22 minutes, or a six-minute car journey.
We realise that this temporary change may cause concern for some patients in terms of travel. Please speak to a member of our reception team when you book your appointment if you are worried, or send us an email at [email protected].
